Julie Whiting spent her earlier years working in Japan as a graphic designer and copywriter.
Japanese culture and industry instilled in her a love of organisation and minimalism.
Fast forward some decades, and Julie lived in a small caravan for a year travelling across Australia with her young family. This required very calculated, organised use of space.
To get to that stage meant a massive downsize, and a lot of time spent selling and rehoming goods in a thoughtful way to minimise waste and landfill.
Julie then founded The Decluttering Co to address the growing problem of people having more stuff, more chaos and less time.
We all accumulate stuff. Decluttering is not about getting rid of everything – it’s about prioritising. Julie wants to help you live in a more intentional space. No judgement, just freedom from chaos and clutter.
Apart from being a professional organiser, Julie is a mum and a scout leader. This means plenty of experience with kids and teens, as well as a current Working With Children Check and a Police Check. She is a member of The Institute of Professional Organisers (IOPO), has done a Mental Health First Aid course and studied Arts and Psychology at Melbourne University. She has a lot of NDIS clients.
