Hoarding Home Solutions at the NAPO ConferenceOne of the most exciting aspects of attending an international conference is meeting your peers live! Modern technology is great, but you really don’t get to know people until you’ve spent time with them attending educational seminars, eating out and dancing to Nutbush City Limits!

We’ve been to our fair share of international conferences so we knew that the standard of education at the NAPO (National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals) conference would be world class. We also felt incredibly privileged to be part of the speaking line-up. With over 500 delegates, there were five concurrent sessions for delegates to choose from at any time. Would anyone choose ours? One kind delegate offered to fill a seat if our presentation “Solutions for Hoarding: Four Alternatives to the Rapid Clean-Out” didn’t draw a crowd. Luckily, she didn’t have to!  We presented to a full house and received great feedback about our innovate solutions.

We had a lot of fun at the NAPO conference attending educational sessions and mixing with like-minded peers and thought leaders in our industry. We learned many things we didn’t even know we didn’t know! Is there more you could learn about helping someone with hoarding disorder? If you would like us to share our solutions at your workplace, send us an email.

Following our presentation, many attendees emailed us with additional questions. We answered them in a Facebook Live video. Some of the questions were:

  • I know my client needs a therapist but how do I tell them?
  • Can you explain more about the GRIP method?
  • I live in the US. Is the online training suitable for me?
  • How long do I have to take the training?
  • Are there any assignments I have to complete in the training?
  • Will you speak at our Chapter?
  • People are sensitive about the word “Hoarder”. What do I say instead?

You can watch the video to find out the answers here.
